Member of Parliament (MP) for Serowe North constituency Baratiwa Mathoothe was arrested and detained over night yesterday at the Special Support Group (SSG) holding cells.
This was confirmed by the Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) president Mephato Reatile who further added that Mathoothe has been released without a charged.
In an interview with MmegiOnline today, Reatile said Mathoothe was detained yesterday after he was alleged to have distributed speech of the State-of the-National Address (SONA) before being released or before it was read by President Mokgweetsi Masisi.
"He is currently at his home. The police has seized his phone. We are consulting on the issue and our action will be known," Reatile said.
