With the Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) looking to tap on former president Ian Khama's popularity, the party's national executive committee (NEC) has appointed former president and party patron as campaign manager for the 2024 General Election.

The party secretary-general Lawrence Ookeditse announced yesterday that in his new role, Khama will work with party secretary-general, national organizing secretary Ford Moiteela and the party treasury Lazarus Lekgoanyana and Onneile Fox Segwai to form the nucleus of the campaign leadership.

“With this very high profile appointment, the BPF is declaring intention to effect regime change in Botswana at the 2024 General Election with its UDC partners. Pursuant to this, all patriotic forces of our country are urged to prepare to register for the general election in huge numbers,” reads a statement from Ookeditse. Furthermore, Ookeditse said the party intends to cover every little grain of soil as they work tirelessly to restore people's dignity and pride.
