Botswana-China relations continue to flourish

Botswana has benefited immensely from the China-Africa cooperation over the years. This was said by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, at an event to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Botswana and China, held on Tuesday.

She said the technical and development assistance Botswana had received from the Chinese government had contributed immensely to the country’s national progress.

Venson-Moitoi said the seriousness with which Botswana takes its relations with China was characterised by the high-level exchange visits undertaken by the respective leaders over the years. This therefore was an opportune time to reflect on both nations’ successes and challenges, and chart a path to long lasting beneficial relations.
