The fire severely damaged a section of a 100-man barrack block designated for personnel stationed at the Donga Base Camp. Both the BDF Fire Unit and the City of Francistown Council Fire Department promptly responded to the situation, successfully containing the fire and preventing its spread to adjacent barracks.
