Michael Sekaba, famed as Uncle Dipopae’s Coolerbox Lifestyle Picnic, will this time take revellers back to the oldies by hosting the 60s and 70s vintage theme on April 29, 2023.

Uncle Dipopae said he was inspired by the ever-changing fashion trends, how people used to dress back in the 60’s to date and how the oldies music has stayed relevant despite the evolving music scene at Warmhands Hotel in Kanye.

“We want this event to be more mature, loving, fashionable and beautiful with a good company of good. The event will be hip and happening, with scheduled awards for best outfit and best photo.

We will try to encompass some of the 60’s and 70s games into the schedule,” he explained.

While the event is themed the 60s and 70s, he explained that they were targeting patrons over the age of 18. He added that they engaged local veteran musicians in the likes of Astley Gops, Coloza, Skazzo and various DJs to entertain the audience with music while Mc Theo will be event host. The DJs include Coolerbox Lifestyle Picnic residents in the likes of Bistar, Shadik, supported by Watssoul, DeepSoul and surprises from upcoming DJS.

He said stalls were sold at P600 per stall.

He, however, pointed out they would mainly be using security provided by the hotel saying they were hardworking adding that they had not received any reports so far. He explained that the security would be beefed up so as to continue with the sterling rep they have maintained thus far.

He explained that the vintage edition of the Coolerbox will be an annual fling.

“It is with sincere gratitude to humbly shout out to Bangweketse and Batswana at large for the immense support over the years as I continue to grow in the industry of event hosting.

I wish to assure them of clean fun as is the norm of every event, to take each and every query to heart and fix it so as they can enjoy themselves and also attain value for their money,” he said.
