Local musician Lebogang Mahlakata also known as Kwaito Mental said he is optimistic about his future in music despite people’s views suggesting Kwaito is dead.

The 25-year-old artist from Thamaga told Showbiz that he has released a new single called Sgubu For Real.  “It is a single that sends a message that kwaito music is not dead,” he said.  He said the genre would be big again in the next five years.  He said the brand Kwaito Mental used to be a group name, but now he is riding alone after other members left because of other life commitments.  Kwaito Mental said he decided to stick with the name because it is hard to start from scratch and market a new brand to the people.

The artist who started in 2010 at Ouzman Productions said he has released three singles since then.
