Kgwanyape Band Shines at 50-To-50

The late Duncan Senyatso’s folk jazz band, Kgwanyape, swept the audience off their feet during the Gaborone City Council 50-To-50 festival held at the Old Lobatse road on Friday.

The 50-To-50 theme was derived from the fact that 50 artists will be celebrating 50 years of independence performing for 50 hours.

Kgwanyape band, which has been out of the spotlight for a number of years, took the audience, more especially the old folks by surprise. The band that was performing live music treated the audience to its beautiful songs filled with rich Setswana flavours like Sheleng, Nyatsi Boela gae, Mosadi waka and Tsetsebjwe which clearly took the old folk back in time.
