As many upcoming local musicians always find it hard to penetrate the music industry due to a lack of exposure, a show dubbed Backyard Stories has extended a helping hand to upcoming artists by giving them the platform to showcase their talent.

The event returns for its fourth edition this Saturday at the National Museum. In an interview with Arts & Culture, the co-founder of Backyard Stories, Thoriso Bogwasi, stated that Backyard Stories is a platform to ameliorate musicians’ careers by giving the right limelight that most yearn for to share their talent. Bogwasi outlined that most artists are overshadowed by the heavyweights in the industry hence the need for events like Backyard Stories.

“Backyard Stories was born from a desire to celebrate and showcase talents of Botswana’s artists and musicians more especially the upcoming ones who struggled with their craft back in 2017,” Bogwasi said.
