Vision 2036 Presidential Task Team (PTT) chairman, Neo Moroka handed over the Vision 2036 document to President Ian Khama on July 6. The chairperson was accompanied by his deputy, who is also the chairman of the current Vision 2016 Council, Martin Makgatlhe and some PTT members. The handover was conducted at the Office of the President.

The PTT was appointed and launched in October 2015, in order to facilitate a national consultative process for the purpose of defining a long-term vision for Botswana. The task team was fully made up of different experts from across all sectors, with the following terms of reference:

- To mobilise Batswana to define their own long-term social, environmental, political and economic development aspirations
