BNF vice-president, Olebile Gaborone, describes himself as a pragmatist, neither a socialist nor a capitalist, seeking the best of both. Mmegi Reporter EPHRAIM KEORENG probes him about the public perception that the man he deputised, Otsweletse Moupo, failed the party, together with the graduates of the 'party school' who helped him to oust the founder, Kenneth Koma.

Mmegi: What is your full name?
Gaborone: Olebile Marakadu Gaborone.
Mmegi: What does Marakadu mean?
Gaborone: It refers to ant bears (Thakadu tse dintsi).
Mmegi: Are you married?
Yes. I also have four children who are now grown ups.
Mmegi: Are you a religious person?
Gaborone: Yes. I go to the Dutch Reformed Church. But I had been a UCCSA person until I quit because there were a lot of problems there.
