Stanchart partners WUC

Standard Chartered has entered into a partnership with Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) to make water bill payments more secure to its clients, the business community and the general public through the use of a virtual account.

In a statement the bank said that the partnership is envisaged to encourage clients to make water bill payments promptly as it will reduce concerns over account reconciliation. The Bank offers a reconciliation solution that will accelerate the end-to-end collection from clients to Water Utilities through the clients’ WUC contract number, which will automatically update the client’s bill account with WUC.

Water Utilities customers will have an option of settling bills via the Virtual Account, Online and Mobile Banking. Further, all payments made via Standard Chartered will be verified at input stage and will immediately reject where the contract number captured is incorrect.
