Pula trades in the mixed

The pula has lost 6.8 percent against the US dollar in the year up to August 2014, despite a slight recovery in the month.

Figures released by the central bank show that the pula depreciated against the rand (1.8 percent) while appreciating against the pound (3.2 percent), yen (2.8 percent), euro (2.5 percent) and the US dollar (1.7 percent) in October. On an annual basis (12 months to October 2014), the Pula depreciated against the pound (6.7 percent) and US dollar (6.8 percent) while appreciating against the euro (1.5 percent), rand (2.1 percent) and the yen (5.1 percent), respectively.
