Lucara Botswana managing director, Naseem Lahri has been officially announced as the winner of the 2022 Forbes Woman Africa Award, which was handed out in partnership with MasterCard and Multichoice.

The award applauds African women who inspire confidence through rewriting the rules of the game as well as female leaders who campaign for positive change and are committed to economic and social transformation on the continent. Organisers of the award said these are women who have challenged the norm to bring about change and have created a new dialogue that will allow future generations to live in a better and more equal world.

“As Africa looks to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical that we build a better future – one where everyone is included,” said Ebehijie Momoh, Mastercard’s West Africa country manager, adding that it was important to recognise women like Lahri.
