Kweneng West Overtakes Ngamiland West As poorest District

Kweneng West is officially the poorest district in the country, taking over from Ngamiland West, which carried the unenviable tag in previous surveys conducted by Statistics Botswana.

According to facts unveiled by the data agency last week, Kweneng West has a poverty incidence of 50.6% or roughly one out of every two people.

 The district had an updated population of 52,400 according to the 2015-2016 Botswana Multi-Topic Household Survey released last week.
