Innovation Hub accredits first nine companies

The Botswana Innovation Hub (BIH) has awarded its first nine companies and institutions certificates of registration that will see them move their operations to BIH's massive Science and Technology Park in Gaborone.

The companies and institutions are Southern Mapping, the University of Botswana, AoB Academe, Weblogic, the National Food Technology Research Centre (NFTRC), Kaelekae, RenderHeads, Tirisano Consulting and Bauer-DeWet Equipment.

These entitities will have access to special incentives, including favourable tax regimes, an innovation fund for business development, a training grant to encourage skills development and retention, and a labour dispensation to facilitate work and residence permits for expatriate professionals, among others.
