Goya urges Batswana to invest on BSE

With the stock market still perceived to be a wealth creation avenue for foreigners, many Batswana tend to shy away from investing in the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) listed securities due to lack of information or understanding, a cabinet minister has said.

Member of Parliament for Palapye, Master Goya said this during the BSE open day at Botsalo Hotel here on Monday. The day was held under the theme, ‘Your partner in wealth creation’.

Goya said generally Batswana are more comfortable with investing in the traditional forms of investments such as property and keeping livestock, which are difficult to diversify unlike with BSE, which gives one a room to alternative products.
