The Board of Directors of Cresta Marakanelo Ltd has suspended the group’s Managing Director (MD), Tawanda Makaya and Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Valentine Mganga in a probe underway regarding a potential irregularity involving the CFO.

On Tuesday, board chairperson, Maria Nthebolan, told Mmegi that not many details could be shared, except that the investigations revolve around the whereabouts of P2.3 million. “As of Thursday last week when we initiated the investigations, we realised that P2.3 million could be missing, but the investigations are still at an infant stage and we are yet to determine what exactly happened,” she said.

Nthebolan could not share further details, stating that she did not want to prejudice the matter, as investigations are ongoing.  “I cannot exactly say how long it will take for the investigations to be concluded. We want them done as soon as possible, but again we have to allow for thorough investigations.”
