BTO shortlisted for global tourism award

Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) and local operator, Desert and Delta Safaris have been shortlisted for the prestigious World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) 2017 Tourism for Tomorrow awards. The announcement was made on Monday at the WTTC headquarters in London.

BTO is shortlisted as one of the three finalists in the Destination Award category while Desert and Delta Safaris is finalist in the People Award category.

According to WTTC, the Tourism for Tomorrow awards recognise the achievements by tourism organisations and destinations in developing sustainable tourism practices in the fields of environment responsibility, cultural heritage and in creating social and economic benefits to local people and communities.
