Blue Opens Rwanda Branch

In line with its vision to become a pan-African micro financier, Blue Financial Services has announced that it will be opening its first Rwandan branch in Kigali on September 26.

This makes Rwanda the 12th country on the continent where Blue has operations. The initial product offerings in Rwanda are one to three month salary advances, three to 24 month personal loans and loans relating to home improvement, education and debt consolidation. The Rwandan operation is headed by a South African, Tony Henderson, who is also responsible for Uganda. Blue will be opening another operation in Nigeria in mid-September. Though the opening of new branches presents new revenue streams, it may put pressure on costs in the short term. The long-term benefits are however expected to outweigh the costs.
