Mothei gets lifeline to vie for Mahalapye East

Former Botswana National Front (BNF) chairperson Harry Mothei has smoked the peace pipe with the party's leadership and will stand as a parliamentary candidate for Mahalapye East constituency.

Party president Duma Boko suspended the former Gaborone mayor in 2012 after he and two others openly criticised the BNF for joining hands with the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).

Their view was that BNF could do better in partnership with the Botswana Congress Party (BCP).
