Police XI

After Botswana football plunged into a nasty situation one Saturday afternoon when South African giants Orlando Pirates failed to honour an expected fixture with Gaborone United in 1974, the Police XI was to be born.

 

After the fans, including Police officers, ran rampage in demand of reimbursement, a decision was taken by senior police management to withdraw all police officers from civilian clubs. This was done so that the organization could manage their people.
