Mogomotsi ‘Teenage’ Mpote’s charges will attempt to reach the semi-finals of the COSAFA Cup when they take on Zambia at 5pm today.

The Zebras topped their group after piping Angola 1-0 on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals. Now Mpote will look to replicate his 2019 run when he took the team to the finals. But they face their bogey adversaries in the Copper Bullets who usually spoil the party for the Zebras.

Mpote’s charges have not conceded a goal in three matches with the defence marshalled by Thato Kebue. Gaborone United goalkeeper, Goitseone Phoko has been steady between the sticks, while his club teammate, Lebogang Ditsile has marshalled the midfield, with the able assistance of Mothusi Cooper.

The Zebras’ female counterparts, the Mares are also enjoying a purple patch after reaching the quarterfinals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. They face hosts Morocco tomorrow, with a place in the last four guaranteeing a spot at next year’s World Cup.
