Local football has been plunged into mourning following the death of Orapa United left-back, Lesenya Ramoraka who passed on this morning following a car accident.

Ramoraka was travelling back to Orapa from his home village, Chadibe after the Independence Day holiday, according to club sources.

The player was reportedly travelling with another occupant when his car had a tyre burst near Mashoro.

Ramoraka (28) had a stint in South Africa with Highlands Park and TS Galaxy.

His stay in South Africa was cut short by a long-term injury and the player returned home last year to rejoin Orapa United. He regained fitness and had been a prominent feature in the Zebras. Orapa United has called an emergency meeting to address players and the technical staff. "His car had a tyre burst this morning.

Our club officials have travelled to Serowe. We are meeting with the players and technical team this afternoon to give them an update on the unfortunate incident," a club official said.
