Nico United have become the seventh Premier League side to part ways with their coach after Philani Ncube was relieved of his duties today.
Ncube, who was suspended by the club earlier this week, was on the bench last week Saturday as he saw his charges surrender a 1-0 lead and eventually succumbed 2-1 to Masitaoka at the Molepolole Sports Complex.
Ncube criticised his goalkeeper and bemoaned his squad’s inexperience after the game. “Nico United management wishes to inform its members, supporters, well wishers and the public that we have amicably parted ways with head coach, Philani Ncube,” reads the club's statement.
Ncube’s reign at the club lasted 11 games in which the team accumulated 11 points out of possible 33 points.
He leaves the team sitting on position 11 with two wins, five draws and four losses recorded. Ncube's dismissal now brings to seven the number of coaches who have been fired since the beginning of the season, with only a third of the campaign gone.
