Under-fire Extension Gunners coach, Phillimon Makwengwe has quit the Lobatse side following a run of poor form.

Makwengwe joined Gunners in November but oversaw a difficult run in which the team failed to register a win in eight matches. He only managed one point out of a possible 24 and pressure was mounting, with the executive reportedly running out of patience. Makwengwe, who replaced former Zebras winger, Phenyo Mongala, tendered his resignation letter today.

He leaves Gunners in 15th place, with two wins and seven points. When he took charge, Gunners were in mid-table showing signs of revival under Mongala, but the team has slid into the relegation, with the incoming coach faced with a mammoth task to save the side.
