Extension Gunners have fired coach, Oupa Kowa after he 'absconded' from duty without informing the club when he was with the national Under-20.

Gunners’ vice chairperson, Bonno Ngwaamotsoko said after deliberations, they decided to part ways with Kowa. “We had issues with our coach and after a series of meetings between both parties involved, we decided to part ways mutually,” Ngwaamotsoko told Mmegi Sport today. Kowa was recently suspended over accusations he had gone Absent Without Leave (AWOL) for over a month.

The coach was with the national Under-20 in Eswatini and the Botswana Football Association (BFA) also failed to inform the club. This did not go down well with the Gunners management and Kowa was immediately suspended upon return from Eswatini. A hearing was held last week and today in which the Gunners executive decided to relieve Kowa of his duties.
