Gaborone United will today hold a memorial service for its late long-time manager, Kegomoditswe 'Degree' Dlamini, who died last Friday due to illness. The memorial service will take place at the Gaborone United
Stadium, with various speakers expected to pay tribute to a man credited with the arrival of the current director, Nicholas Zakhem. "Degree contributed immensely to the success of Gaborone United, and he is the one who convinced our director, Nicolas Zakhem, to invest in the club 21 years ago," GU said in a statement. Dlamini played for The Reds as a left back in the late '80s alongside the likes of City Ntebela, Terence Mophuting, Teenage Maswai, and Moseking Thebeemang, to name a few. Amongst speakers at today's funeral are Zakhem, former teammates Lepholetha 'City' Senne, Kempes Ebineng, and Khura Keatilwe. Dlamini, who was 60, will be laid to rest at Phomolong Cemetery on Saturday.
