FRANCISTOWN: Young Mares head coach, Tapaphiwa Gaebolae believes that lack of match fitness is the reason behind her team’s poor showing in an Under-20 world Cup qualifier against Ethiopia on Friday.

Gaebolae was left frustrated after his side conceded three home goals at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium. Ethiopia were in control and had a lot of momentum throughout the match. By half time, they led 2-0. The hosts did score early in the second half. That was moments before Ethiopia scored the third to take the match beyond reach for Gaebolae’s side. Additionally, the Friday match was arguably the worst performance for the Junior Mares in the qualifiers.
