Five clubs that failed to get a licence to play in the 2022–2023 Botswana Premier League season have been pardoned, Mmegi Sport has learnt.

Extension Gunners, Mogoditshane Fighters, Masitaoka, Eleven Angels and Morupule Wanderers had all failed to meet the Club Licensing requirements and were relegated to the lowest division.

However, following the Botswana Football Association intervention, the clubs got a reprieve as the First Instance Board was requested to review their cases.

The review process began yesterday and according to sources all the clubs have managed to obtain a licence.

The conclusion of the case is set to pave way for the start of the delayed season. However, there has been no announcement regarding sponsorship deals for the new season after the last campaign was played without a title sponsor.
