Cash rains as Mares pocket P31,000 each

FRANCISTOWN: The women's national team, Mares have been rewarded handsomely for their historic qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations finals after the government gave each player P20,000.

This is in addition to the P11,000 each player will pocket from the Lucara Diamond Company sponsorship.

More cash incentives are expected to follow after the team secured a maiden place at the biennial tournament. Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Tumiso Rakgare said the government had pledged P550, 000 to the Mares.
