BOKA on a three UFAK medal hunt

Botswana Karate Association (BOKA) has set an ambitious target of winning three medals at the 2026 Union of African Karate Federations (UFAK) Cadet, Junior and Senior Championships. The event kicked off on Sunday (September 6) in Algiers, Algeria and it will run until September 13.

In the previous UFAK Championships edition, Team Botswana won one medal out of the three athletes that were assigned. BOKA president, Shihan Mpho Bakwadi, told Sport Monitor that the target was influenced by the number of athletes who will represent the country at the continental championships.

He explained that the trip to the competition was fully funded by Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC).
