The inaugural BH National Women’s League South Stream is shaping into a three-horse race, with BDF XI emerging as early surprise leaders ahead of favourites Red Roses and former champions Double Action.

The Kweneng Regional League champions have opened a seven-point cushion at the summit, sending an early message to the established heavyweights in a competition that many expected to be dominated by Gaborone United Ladies. Despite the early lead, BDF XI head coach, Alfred Moswetsi believes his side still has work to do if they are to maintain their push for a maiden national crown.

“Our attack still needs improvement if we are to challenge seriously for the title,” he admitted as the league edges towards the halfway mark.
