It may have appeared to come out of the blue, but the changes at the Botswana Football Association (BFA) had been quietly brewing behind the scenes. On Wednesday, BFA president Tariq Babitseng finally pulled the trigger on a significant staff shake-up, appointing Bathusi Rathari as acting CEO whilst demoting Kaelo ‘Wire’ Kaelo and leaving the technical director’s position vacant, reports MQONDISI DUBE

Changes that had long been whispered about in the corridors of Lekidi Centre finally came to the surface before sports journalists, who attended the BFA’s media briefing at Lekidi Centre, on Wednesday.

What had been framed as a routine briefing was, in reality, the public unveiling of a change that had already been set in motion.
