The Botswana Stock Exchange's (BSE) market capitalisation or the market value of all listed shares, has risen by more than P389 billion since the beginning of the year, with investors generally enjoying steady returns.

The 55% jump in market capitalisation helped propel the BSE into the trillion-pula value territory as well as into the higher rankings on exchanges on the continent.

A market report compiled by the exchange and covering the period between January and end of September, indicates that values rose across the various instruments listed on the local bourse.

Exercise extra caution!

Unfortunately, petty thieves tend to be more vicious around this time as they also prepare for the festive season. Culturally, many Batswana go home for the holiday, and petty thieves are amongst those who go home. Burglaries, car break-ins, and attacks on unsuspecting pedestrians seem to be on the rise! That is not all, as scammers continue to take money from pensioners as well as other Batswana who may fall prey to their unscrupulous tactics....
