What needs to be done at Zebras

We are yet to be swayed. Colwyn Rowe's departure has not given birth to any change of direction in coaching at the national soccer team.

His successor and former deputy, Stanley Tshosane fields three strikers, two defensive midfielders and one winger. Rowe was a victim of his selection. His failures hardly had anything to do with tactical display but a lot more with his personnel. There is a rigidity with the Zebras selection that has become permanent. Subsequently there are no immediate replacements for players out of form, let alone those who are evidently struggling. The coach ends up using the same troops regardless of opponents. In the end the Zebras become easily predictable.

The team may deceive at first sight with its lion's share of possession but a closer look will show a serious lack of cutting edge. The continued fielding of a player, whose contribution cannot go beyond making a bodily presence in the left wing proves the point. For as long as Tshosane continues to field midfielders, who do not complement each other, the team will struggle.
