Satmos' promotion confirmed as three clubs fined

FRANCISTOWN: The First Division North league committee has confirmed the promotion of FC Satmos to the Premier League after hearing three pending cases, which might have had a direct influence on the outcome of the title race.

Three clubs - Mahalapye Hotspurs, Maun Terros, and Orapa Bucs - were hauled before the committee after failing to honour some fixtures and causing some matches to be abandoned.

Divisional secretary Moraole Sikwane said the three clubs were fined in accordance with the Botswana Football Association (BFA) play rules and regulations. He said the result of the game, between Hotspurs and Great North Tigers (GNT), which was abandoned with the latter leading 2-0, will stand.
