Race intensifies for basketball slots

With only two rounds to be played in the Basketball Division 1 League games, teams are throwing the last dice in an attempt to break into the top four.

Third-placed Spartans face log leaders, Dolphins at the UB Courts tomorrow night. The match starts at 8 pm. Spartans face a rather tough assignment against a team that has not lost in the league this season.

Dolphins have won all their eleven games; scoring 771 points while conceding 612 points. On the other hand, Spartans have the best defensive record as they have only conceded 600 points. Of the 11 games played, they lost four while winning seven.  Up next at 8:30pm, Police welcome second-placed Troopers at the UB Courts in their last game of the season. Police are sitting in fifth position and would look to increase their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals over a side which has only lost two games of the eleven played. Police lost their last match before the break 43-36 to Dolphins while Troopers beat Flames 65-57.
