Over 1000 register for half marathon

The annual Lady Khama Charitable Trust Half Marathon dubbed ‘RUN21’ takes place at the Fairgrounds in Gaborone on Sunday morning with over 1000 runners expected.

The marathon has been divided into three categories according to the distances covered by the competitors.

The 21km, being the longest race, starts at 6am from the Fairgrounds, past Riverwalk mall, all way to the Gaborone Game Reserve then past the SSG and BDF camps then back to the starting point.  The 10km race route covers the area between Fairgrounds, Riverwalk mall, BDF camp and the University of Botswana (UB).  The shortest race, the 5km fun race, goes around the Fairgrounds.
