Ngwenya looks for Coke salvation

Township Rollers' coach Dickson Ngwenya will be under immense pressure when he leads his side to the Kgatleng capital to take on Mochudi Buffaloes in the Coca-Cola Cup round of 32.

Since arriving at Rollers to replace discarded Daniel 'Chicco' Nare, Ngwenya has been criticised for not changing the fortunes of the team. But he has defended his record saying that he does not have a balanced squad, which can compete for top honours. Now the management has bolstered the squad and the onus is on Ngwenya to come up with a winning team. With recent reports that he might be sacked, he knows that his fate lies in doing well in the Coca-Cola Cup. This is the only chance for Mapalastina to win silverware this year. But playing Buffaloes in Mochudi can spell doom for Rollers. The Mochudi side has always proven difficult in their backyard.

With due respect to Ngwenya's critics, the Zambian tactician has tried his best to make Rollers play entertaining football. The main problem has been failure to convert clear-cut chances.
