Township Rollers' exciting players, Joel '16' Mogorosi and Boitumelo 'Navara' Mafoko are said to have left the country on Tuesday for South Africa's Premier League giants Orlando Pirates. Mmegi Sports reporter, BOITUMELO KHUTSAFALO argues that though some people doubt whether the two internationals can overcome the pressure that comes with playing for Pirates, they are likely to succeed, should they secure contracts.

There is no doubt that the success of Zebras' striker, Diphetogo Selolwane in South Africa has opened doors for other Botswana players. Selolwane returned from the United States some time back and became the third Botswana player to ply his trade in South Africa when he joined Cape Town Santos. He was outstanding in his first season at Santos.

Clubs started to take notice of talent from Botswana and that is how the likes of Mogogi Gabonamong, Moemedi Moatlhaping and Phenyo Mongala received offers from Santos, Platinum Stars and Pretoria University respectively. Former Gaborone United captain, Joseph Phetogo joined Nathi Lions and Zebras midfielder Michael Mogaladi headed for Maritzburg United. Gabonamong has become a household name in South African football and won the Player of the Season Award last season at his club. Phetogo and Mogaladi are regulars at their respective clubs.
