Masole,Mhotshwa defend golf titles

David Masole is this year’s Orange Golf Classic champion for the second year running. The event was held at Phakalane Golf Estate on Saturday and Sunday where Ouname Mhotshwa also managed to defend the title she won last year in the women’s category.

Mhotshwa was winning the title for the fourth year in a row. It was not an easy win for Masole who had to go for play offs with Charlton Makoko. In the end, Masole won the championship division with a convincing 79, 75, 79. Mhotshwa was also given stiff competition by Minki Molatlhegi, but ended up winning the title. Masole told Monitor Sport that winning was a dream come true. He said he has been working hard for the past few months preparing for the tournament.

“To me this is the beginning of a new year and I do not want anything to stand in my way. I just have to push hard and win all the upcoming Botswana Golf Union (BGU) tournaments.
