Lack of facilities hinder cricket development

BCA development manager, Girish Ramakrishna has said that if the government does not do anything about the lack of playing fields in the country, they might have to reduce the number of participants in the programme. The development programme has been recruiting 20 schools per annum since 2007. So far, the programme has about 3,800 pupils.
Ramakrishna said that this year, they added schools from Ramotswa, Pilane and Kanye for the first time. He said they are planning to introduce cricket to teachers and students of the newly recruited schools early next week. "This is the orientation stage where we find out if the targeted schools are prepared to introduce cricket as a sport in their schools.
