FNB hosts watch party for World Cup opener

FNB Botswana hosted a watch party for the opening 2026 World Cup finals at Hotel 430 on Thursday evening, as the global showpiece roared into life with a fixture between Mexico and South Africa.

The hosts triumphed 2-0 in an incident filled match which saw three players receive red cards. FNB made the night more memorable, as they hosted clients and stakeholders, including the media. The Minister of Sport and Arts, Jacob Kelebeng was among the dignitaries. The evening was spiced with a lot of giveaways during a quiz section focusing on the game and commercial bank's services. "Great football, great company and an atmosphere built around a shared passion for the game," the bank said on its official Facebook page.
