Malebogo Morebodi came second at the Windhoek Lager Africa Jacket Golf Championship held over the weekend in the Namibian capital. While the Zebras were suffering a painful defeat at the hands of South Africa just a few metres away from the Windhoek Country Club golf course, Morebodi was providing scant consolation for the nation on her debut.

The golfer was competing under the women’s division that was being played for the first time in the annual championship.

Morebodi told Monitor Sport yesterday that she was excited about her achievement. First position went to a South African. She said the competition was tough because she was playing against strong golfers.
