UB Giants put up a stellar performance to beat Bears 13-5 in an exciting Shell Softball League match at the UB Diamond on Saturday.

The students made their intentions clear as early as the bottom of the first inning after their opponents started off poorly at the top of the inning.Former BDF IX star, Misael Thompson's homer halfway into the inning saw Kaone Sekate and Tebogo Makalana, who were in second and third base respectively, get runs.

Their opponents could only pull one back in the top two inning courtesy of a Kamogelo Jautse run. Giants then doubled their lead in the bottom two inning through the same scorers from bottom one. This time, they took advantage of an error by their opponents to quickly make it 6-0. Bears struggled in the top third inning and looked to have lost all hope as they trailed 6-1. And the ruthless students stretched their lead to 11-1 in the bottom of the inning.
