Finally, stadium renamed after Sam Sono

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) has finally agreed to rename the council’s stadium after the late Sam Sono, founder of FC Satmos.

This was confirmed during an ongoing street, road and public facilities renaming exercise in the former mining town. Sono, who passed away in 2004, contributed immensely to football development in Selebi-Phikwe.

He is a former Township Rollers and national team goalkeeper.
