FIFA donates to SOS Village

Officials from world soccer governing body, FIFA visited SOS Children's Village in Tlokweng and donated balls and T-shirts on Wednesday.

FIFA has been supporting the village for a number of years. Delighted children at the institution were very happy to mingle with their role models. The donation was aimed at developing football and to expose the orphans to benefits enjoyed by other children.
Tlokweng SOS Children's Village is the first to be built in the country in 1987. It currently has 268 children. Francistown SOS Village was built in 1988 and currently has 245 children. A third SOS Village is being built in Serowe and has already taken in 94 children though construction is not complete. Tlokweng SOS official, Motshwari Kitso revealed that since the facility was built in 1987, it has produced university graduates who are already fending for themselves. He said they have a good number of SOS orphans in various universities around the world.

He hailed their partnership with FIFA and said it must continue. He revealed that there are common features between SOS Children Villages and FIFA. He explained that both FIFA and SOS strive for peace and tranquillity, fair play and development.
