After being beaten to a gold medal last year by Zimbabwean runner, Nkosiyazi Sibanda ,  local marathon runner, Rapula Diphoko is this  year’s Orange Phikwe Marathon 42.2 km winner.

Diphoko who has been in fine form clocked 2:24 to finish ahead of Kenyan runner, Isaac Kiprop Kigen, 33, who scooped second position on 2:36.

He recently won the Botswana Life half marathon in Gaborone. In an interview, the 30-year-old runner said he prepared well for the race. “I prepared well for this race as I wanted to win it this year after losing out in the last year’s race by a few seconds.
