Chobe United targets First Division stay

Speaking to Mmegi Sport after his team beat Maun Tigers 1-0 at the Maun Sports Complex on Saturday, Mombala said following their promotion, they managed to strengthen their squad with four players who have First Division experience.

“Our target is just to maintain our stay in the First Division.  We do not want to put ourselves under pressure,” he said.  Against Maun Tigers on Saturday, Chobe found the opener in first half from Modise Kenewang and maintained the lead until the final whistle.  They have now accumulated 13 points and are sixth on the league table. The loss meanwhile, relegated Maun Tigers from position six to nine.  The Maun side went into the game without coach Lolo Mosojane who was out on work commitments.   Caretaker coach, Antony Timothy said their main problem is that most of their players are workers who fail to honour training sessions and games due to work commitments.
