SELEBI-PHIKWE: A potentially explosive encounter is on the cards when leaders, Mochudi Centre Chiefs take on bottom team Nico United in a Mascom Premier League game billed for Selebi-Phikwe Stadium tomorrow.

As the Chiefs juggernaut rolls into town this weekend, the club's passionate fans are expected to turn the mining town into a sea of black and white. Chiefs know that they are in for a tricky assignment against a Majombolo side that is on a mini revival. Chiefs' public relations officer, Clifford Mogomotsi admits they would not have it easy against the hosts. Magosi have always come unstuck against Nico in Selebi-Phikwe. The last time Magosi were in town, their hopes of winning the Premier League were effectively dashed after a 3-1 hammering by Majombolo. However, the Mochudi side are currently riding the crest of the waves boosted by the 4-0 demolition of Gaborone United (GU) last Friday. Magosi have yet to lose a match in the league and look ready to run away with the title. Though Chiefs have always suffered at the hands of Nico and might be scared ahead of the duel, Mogomotsi said they treat every game as it comes. He admitted that Nico is a tricky team to play in Phikwe and might cause an upset even if they are propping up the standings. Mogomotsi attributes his team's brilliant start to the season to team work. "We did not disband after last season's failure. The players, the coach and the supporters have remained focused. It is down to teamwork," he said. Magosi, who are seeking their first major title have an array of stars.

Unlike Nico coach, Madinda Ndlovu, Chiefs' tactician, Mike Sithole is spoilt for choice. He has an assortment of talent in Jerome Ramatlhakwana, captain Pontsho Moloi, Mpho Mabogo, Othusitse 'Jabu' Pilane and Tshepo 'Talk Talk' Motlhabankwe. These players can walk into any team's starting 11 in the league. The spotlight will once again fall on last season's golden boot winner, Moloi, who has not slowed down.
